Bellevue College closes campus due to police response to reported rape

Police are going to a reported rape at Bellevue College Tuesday morning. The attacker might have a knife, says Bellevue Police Department around 9:20 a.m.

The Bellevue Police Department (BPD) mentioned that the reported assault happened at approximately 8:50 a.m. in a restroom on the first floor of the L Building on the campus.

The suspect is a white man, clean-shaven, with brown hair, wearing a hoodie, and may have a knife, as per the police description.

Seth Tyler from the BPD mentioned the victim reported finding a man with a knife inside the women's restroom.

Tyler mentioned that the man threatened her with a knife and sexually assaulted her. She had some cuts that matched the knife.

This was very tough for her," Tyler mentioned. "We're lucky she wasn't more seriously hurt."

Bellevue is usually a safe community. We think this was a random event. It's very unusual for us to have a stranger rape in Bellevue.
